Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) is national information centre and specialised scientific public library focused on the technical fields, selected natural and economic sciences and humanities. STU has a contract with SCSTI for the provision of expert support services which include patent searches, IP valuation, patent applications, negotiating licensing terms, administration and IP training.

INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY OFFICE OF THE SLOVAK REBUBLIC

The Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic is a central state administration body operating in the field of industrial property protection (inventions, utility models, designs, trademarks, designations of origin and geographical indications). It manages the central patent and trademark database, provides access to public and operates as a specialised centre for patent information in Slovakia.

The Industrial Property Office is a patron of international agreements for the protection of industrial property where Slovakia is included. It supports creativity in technical fields and encourages IP protection, education and popularization of IP. STU has a collaboration agreement with the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic.

 

UNIVERSITY TECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR (InQb)

InQb is a department at STU which supports start-ups by providing general advice and office space (866 m2) at favourable prices and on flexible terms. The support is aimed at brand new entrepreneurs and those who have established their firm only recently.

InQb was founded thanks to EU funds for innovation and Technologies development - INTEG (PHARE CBC programme Slovakia - Austria). The premises at Pionierska St. in Bratislava opened to public on 28th November 2005.

InQb aims to:

  • support the local knowledge economy
  • link science, research and innovation with business practice to increase the region's business competiveness.

It was established on 1st March 2008 to facilitate IP commercialisation (developed by STU researchers and STU business partners). It particularly focuses on commercialising new knowledge, know-how, technical solutions and designs.
